# PSC Categories

Also referred to as Federal Supply Codes, Product Service Codes (PSCs) maintained at [acquisition.gov](https://www.acquisition.gov/psc-manual) are used by the United States government to describe the products, services, and research and development purchased by the government. Government procurement specialists and government contractors alike require a solid understanding of these codes in order to produce quality partnerships between buyers and suppliers.

GovTribe maintains a list of PSC Categories and their details, allowing you to:

* filter by your relevant PSC Categories when searching for Opportunities,
* research competitors and possible teaming partners within certain PSC categories

## The PSC Categories Search Page

***To access the PSC Categories Search Page:***

**Step 1.**  Go to:  **Main Menu** >> **Categories** >> **PSC Categories**. ([Take me there](https://govtribe.com/category/psc))

Favorite the PSC Categories relevant to your work to make it easier to pursue relevant contracts. When searching for Opportunities, you’ll be able to quickly add those PSC Categories to your filters.

## The PSC Category Detail Page

***To access a PSC Category’s Detail Page:***

**Step 1.**  Go to:  **Main Menu** >> **Categories** >> **PSC Categories**. ([Take me there](https://govtribe.com/category/psc))

**Step 2.**  Search for the appropriate PSC Category, then click on its **Title** (or **View** button).

You can also access an PSC Category’s detail page by clicking on any PSC Category link throughout GovTribe.

The *PSC Category’s Detail Page* will be displayed, which allows you to view and access its information.
