# Phone Number Verification

## Why do I need to provide my phone number to register?

When you sign up for GovTribe, we do require a phone number to deter fraud and maintain the security of the platform. We also use your phone number to help secure your account, and prevent unauthorized access.

## Landline? VoIP? Google Voice?

We do not support use of landlines, VoIP providers, or Google Voice. GovTribe is only able to complete account verification via mobile phone numbers, and through a SMS text message. We do not support verification via email or via phone where the phone number is associated with a landline or VoIP provider.

## Supported Countries

GovTribe currently accepts new account registration (and phone number verification requests) from these countries:

* Australia
* Canada&#x20;
* United Kingdom
* United States&#x20;
